OPERATOR PLATFORM

ALL-DAY COMFORT AND EASY CONTROL

• Comfort doesn’t cost extra on the value-focused WORKMASTER™ 35C or 40C. In fact, your comfort was a key focus when designing the operator platform. New Holland utilized software with proprietary real-world data of a diverse range of operators to guide every stage of development. The result? A platform that feels natural, efficient, and well-tailored to work as long as you need without fatigue.

ROOM TO MOVE

• Getting on and off the platform is easy with big grab handles on each steel fender, a left-hand step, and a wide threshold to and from the seat. For ideal comfort and further ease and safety of getting on and off the tractor, you’ll find a semi-flat deck design under your feet featuring a low transmission “hump” and a standard rubber floor mat.

COMFORTABLE SUSPENSION SEAT

• To accommodate operators of all sizes, the comfortable vinyl seat offers fore-and-aft adjustment on an incline track and adjustable weight suspension. The seat also has contoured channels to help shed water and a debossed New Holland leaf logo on the backrest. For even more comfort, optional armrests can be added.

TRANSMISSIONS

THE SPEED YOU NEED

• Choose from a three-range dual-pedal hydrostatic transmission or 12x12 gear transmission with a synchronized left-hand shuttle on either a WORKMASTER 35C or 40C to suit your needs. 

DUAL-PEDAL HYDROSTATIC (HST) TRANSMISSION

• For infinitely variable speeds and the absolute easiest operation, consider the HST. An HST is highly effective in jobs where direction changes are frequent, like loader work or rotary cutting tight paddocks. With the three-range hydrostatic transmission, you’ll make effortless direction changes with two foot pedals on the right side of the floor–one for forward and one for reverse. To reduce fatigue during constant speed operation, an optional mechanical cruise control lever can be installed by your dealer.

12X12 GEAR TRANSMISSION

• Gear transmissions are ideal for demanding tasks like hauling heavy loads and ground-engaging activities like discing a garden, or if you need a lower price point or a few more PTO horsepower. With this transmission, you’ll have 12 forward and 12 reverse gears and a synchronized left-hand shuttle located under the steering wheel for easy direction changes.

ENGINE

EFFICIENT POWER THAT DELIVERS

• The powerful three-cylinder engine features common-rail direct injection for optimal power and torque you need for tough jobs and great fuel efficiency. Work in cold weather? Glow plugs help with quick starts while an engine block heater is available as a dealer-installed accessory.

SIMPLE SERVICING

• The lightweight, single-piece metal hood flips up for access to all major service points. The hood can also remain closed to check oil levels. A dual-element air cleaner and radiator screen provide superior filtration and are both easy to access and remove.

LONG RUNTIMES, FAST REFUELING

• A large 12.6-gallon (48L) fuel tank located behind the seat gives you ample fuel to stay running for long durations. The tank is slim to still allow for great rearward visibility. Refueling is easy with the fill neck located near the back of the left fender.

• From lifting and pulling to pushing and powering attachments, the WORKMASTER 35C and 40C are built to get serious work done. Featuring a hefty three-point hitch and big hydraulic capacities along with easy-to-use controls means you’ll work with confidence.

BUILT TO LIFT YOUR BIGGEST IDEAS-THREE-POINT HITCH

• The heavy-duty three-point hitch has a lift capacity of 2067 lbs. (940 kg) to curl a wide variety of rear implements with ease. The conveniently placed right-hand lever beside the seat offers smooth and precise position control of the hitch. The standard drop-rate control knob is found below the seat to adjust the down speed of the hitch.
• Unlike some competitors that use check chains, telescopic stabilizers come standard for more convenience and control. They offer a simple pin adjustment on the lower link arms, promoting faster implement connection by sliding in and out and preventing unwanted side-to-side swaying of your implement.

GO WITH THE FLOW-HYDRAULICS

• For maximum productivity you need fast loader response, capacity to operate rear attachments and implements, and easy operation. The WORKMASTER 35C and 40C deliver with a dual-pump hydraulic system: one pump for the rear hitch and implements and one for effortless power steering, even with the bucket full.
• Rear hydraulic remotes are optional to power rear implements like a log splitter. A single remote can be installed from the factory while up to three remotes can easily be installed by your dealer thanks to their stackable design. When equipped, color-coded levers are installed to the right of the seat.

TURNING POWER INTO A POSSIBILITY - REAR PTO ON HST MODELS

• For simple and convenient control of rear PTO-powered implements like a rotary cutter, WORKMASTER 35C and 40C tractors with the hydrostatic transmission come with a simple switch on the right side of the dash panel to electronically engage and disengage the PTO. This PTO is fully independent, which means it can be engaged regardless of tractor motion.

PROVEN RELIABILITY - REAR PTO ON 12X12 GEAR MODELS

• WORKMASTER 35C and 40C tractors equipped with the 12x12 gear transmission use a transmission-type PTO. This PTO is mechanically engaged by simply stopping the tractor and depressing the clutch then activating it with the left-hand lever beside the seat.

REPORTING FOR HEAVIER DUTY

• A robust and responsive 4WD front axle is critical for years of durability in loader work. Power steering makes turning effortless, even when operating with a full loader bucket, because of the dedicated steering pump. A sharp turning radius of 123.2 inches (3129 mm) means you’ll also have exceptional maneuverability in tight spaces. 4WD is simple to engage and disengage with the pull of a handle in front of the seat.

EXTRA TRACTION ON DEMAND

• The rear axle is equally as strong and built to handle heavy attachments like a 270BC backhoe and three-point implements like a rototiller. For improved traction when the going gets tough, the rear differential lock can easily be depressed with your right foot, forcing both rear wheels to turn at the same speed for maximum traction. Multi-plate wet disc brakes provide sure stopping and assist with turning for greater maneuverability.

250LC FRONT LOADER

LOADED WITH CAPABILITY FOR WHAT'S AHEAD

• From lifting logs to scooping stone, the versatility of WORKMASTER™ tractor with a 250LC front loader is endless. It starts with the 250LC loader’s optimal integration with the tractor for guaranteed productivity and visibility. The comfortable, easy-to-reach joystick makes loader control effortless while the loader’s arms match the slope of the hood for great visibility. Removal and reattachment are also easy with integrated storage stands stowed underneath the loader arms.

ATTACHED TO VERSATILITY

• You’ll use popular attachments with the skid-steer quick-attach faceplate with two, large quick-attach levers.

LIVE 3RD FUNCTION KIT

• For use with grapples, an optional live 3rd function kit can also be installed by your dealer. With this installed, you’ll operate an additional function on an attachment such as a grapple bucket or 4-in-1 bucket simultaneously with raise/lower and dump/curl functions. Operation is controlled with two buttons on the back of the joystick. Along with the standard 66-inch (1676 mm) bucket from New Holland, you can also order a 60-inch (1524 mm) rake grapple (shown) to clear brush or a 66-inch (1676 mm) 4-in-1 bucket to scoop, grapple, doze, and level.

PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT

• While your WORKMASTER 35C or 40C will come equipped with two vertical steel uprights to protect the grill from the start, the optional grill guard insert kit provides two horizontal cross bars that bolt onto these uprights for even greater protection.

270BC BACKHOE

• Put durable digging power to work in tight spaces when you equip a WORKMASTER 35C or 40C with a 270BC backhoe. From the comfort of the backhoe-mounted seat and controls, you’ll effortlessly dig as deep as 87 inches (2210 mms). 

EFFORTLESS EXCAVATION STARTS HERE

• Operating a 270BC backhoe is simple. The comfortable vinyl seat is mounted to the backhoe while large levers provide you with all necessary controls to put durable digging power in tight spaces.

EASY INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL

• The 270BC has an innovative mounting system that attaches directly to a WORKMASTER 35C or 40C with unique brackets that allow the backhoe to be easily installed without removing the three-point hitch arms. As a result, you gain more ground clearance than previous designs and competitors that use subframes underneath the tractor.

MECHANICAL THUMB OPTION

• A mechanical thumb to clamp the material you’re moving, like rocks and logs, can also be installed.
